Duke Energy in Action

Volunteerism is an integral part of Duke Energy's commitment to the communities where we live and serve. Throughout the year, our employees build relationships and hone their leadership skills by volunteering in their local communities. Here are some of the ways our employees make a difference through our Duke Energy In Action program.

Hours4Good

Employees volunteer their time while helping nonprofit organizations that are important to them. At the same time, employees earn matching cash donations from Duke Energy for their volunteer hours that can go to an eligible nonprofit of their choice.

Teams4Good

Employees can pool their hours together to support a common cause. Teams that volunteer 40 hours or more will earn a company donation for the nonprofit supported by the team.

Dollars4Good

Employees can make a contribution to an eligible charity and the company will provide a 1:1 match for their donation up to $2,500 annually.

Company-sponsored Volunteer Projects

These projects provide employees the opportunity to participate in large-scale volunteer projects organized by the company. Projects span a range of nonprofits and causes, including vibrant economies; climate resiliency; and justice, equity and inclusion. Each year, our employees also have the opportunity to give back to their communities through our annual Power of Giving campaign.

Companywide Volunteer Projects

Every year Duke Energy employees volunteer thousands of hours in the communities where they live and work. Here are a few examples of volunteer projects spearheaded by our employees:

Employees volunteered more than 140 hours to beautify these two Asheville, N.C., schools, from building planter benches to assembling steel benches to sanding and staining picnic tables.
